For the first time I’m taking part in WWW Wednesday! This is currently hosted at Taking on A World of Words. The three W’s are:

Currently Reading:

Too Much: How Victorian Constraints Still Bind Women Today by Rachel Vorona Cote

Too Much investigates many of the ways women in our past were expected to behave, specifically having to do with many forms of expression being considered as lashing out or being unruly. It also explores how these constraints still exist in our present day, using modern examples of women who have demonstrated “hysterical” behavior and why this should not be considered the case.

I entered a Goodreads giveaway for this and eventually found it on NetGalley. I only started reading it last night, so I don’t have many thoughts on it yet. But we’ll see what happens!

Recently Read:

The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference by Malcolm Gladwell

The Tipping Point provides many examples of the brink of something becoming big. From sneaker trends to declines in crime, Gladwell shows how the little things can become the tipping point for great changes to emerge.

This is my third Gladwell book, and I love how he takes concepts I think I know well and completelty changes my way of thinking. I find it just as interesting how his views of “Mavens” and word-of-mouth advertising reflect how products sell today.

You can read my full review on my Goodreads here.

Up Next:

The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde

The Picture of Dorian Gray, an originally controversial novel at its time of publication, features a man who sells his soul in exchange for eternal youth and beauty.

I can’t wait to finally get to reading this book! This is a classic that I’ve wanted to read for years now and I anticipate that it will be one of my favorites.

That’s all for this week’s WWW Wednesday. Leave a comment if you participated this week too so I can read your post – or let me know what you’re currently reading below!
